Travel Guide to Kuching Airport

Kuching Airport is a major commercial airport serving the whole southwestern part of Sarawak, Indonesia. It is situated approximately 11 miles south-east of Kuching. The airfield is shared by the RMAF's Kuching airbase and the RMAF's RMIQ Sarawak airport.

The Kuching Airport has several terminals with each serving different needs. Each terminal has at least one runway that is parallel to a paved parking lot for vehicles and a runway that are parallel to a main road or expressway. If you plan to arrive at the Kuching Airport by road, you may want to take public transport such as buses or taxis.

The airport has plenty of taxi services available and all of them are fully equipped with GPS locators. You can easily choose a taxi from the taxi stand, which has information about the driver's background and the type of vehicle he/she drives. Once you have picked up a taxi, you can enter the airport through the baggage check-in area. If you prefer to walk directly to the terminal, you can do so in the terminal building. There are taxis waiting there, but they are not very fast. There are also buses that stop at the airport during the rush hours.

You may be asked by the tuk-tuk driver to get off the bus, so it would be wise to bring along some money along with you. As a traveler, you should bring along the cards you need while you are there as well as the travel documents. You should also bring your car and the luggage with you. If you have a car, you should keep a copy of the papers such as your ticket and your credit card as proof that you have taken the necessary precautions before leaving the airport.

You should pay extra attention when approaching the ticketing counters of the Kuching Airport as there are many inspectors and ticket vendors who may be suspicious of you. If you do not feel comfortable with this, then you can choose another mode of transportation such as taxi or tuk-tuk or bus. from one of the public transportation stations nearby. If you do not want to use public transportation, then you should try using an old-fashioned bicycle as a means of getting from one place to another. One of the public transportation options is the MRT (metroMallahan Sentral Express), which goes to the Kuching terminal and the BTS (Bayan-Malibu-Terminal) which goes to the Kuching terminal and the BTS terminus. These buses are not so fast, but they are definitely reliable.

To save some time, it would be a good time to take the MRT when it is not too crowded. If you are coming in from Singapore and you are flying into Bangkok, then the best time would be in the morning. On the other hand, if you are flying into Bangkok and you have a plane in Singapore, then the best time is in the afternoon because many people are going home after work or visiting relatives who are living in Sarawak.
